NEXT GENERATION

Below are some initiatives that Disciple Nations churches are involved in…

zamBEZI holIDAYS

Zambesi Ministries is a non-denominational Christian organization based in Zimbabwe that offers young people the opportunity to grow socially, physically, mentally and spiritually.

The Zamhols team focuses on:

  1. Camps in School Holidays
  2. Working with schools during term-times
  3. Personal discipleship

The Camps run in April, August and December annually. Applications for December mixed camp will open end of October 2019.

eBENEZER tRUST

Ebenezer Trust is an educational initiative that equips young people with the skills they need to run agribusinesses and live Christ centered lives. Ebenezer Colleges are currently in Matobo, Zimbabwe and Rapale, Moçambique. Soon to be in Livingstone, Zambia.
Ebenezer is essentially a place of everyday discipleship, operating within a commercial value-chain context, aiming to equip apprentices with the skills, knowledge and attitude they need to be productive and upstanding community members. Young people are invited to join for up to two years during which they are equipped for a life of fruitfulness in the areas of Faith, Family and Finances.

MAKOMBORERO

Makomborero Zimbabwe offers scholarships to economically disadvantaged, but supremely talented, students who would be otherwise unable to finish their A-level education.

They are awarded places at top private schools in Harare to study their chosen A-levels, living in a safe and secure family environment at a boarding house, with state of the art resources at their disposal. 80 students have benefited from Makomborero’s assistance since 2011 and have all obtained outstanding results..

Makomborero’s students are also encouraged to give back to their communities, with opportunities each year for students to serve in their home communities. These are either initiatives they have undertaken themselves or things that Makomborero has set up – black board painting at rural schools, revision lessons in township schools, extra lessons for orphans or students who have dropped out of school.

CROSSOVER

CrossOver aims to equip the church to deliver an education solution to those who are most vulnerable in communities.

Families in Zimbabwe have been severely affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the consequent breakdown of family structures as well as huge socio-economic upheaval. The state education system is grossly overburdened. Cross Over aims to meet the educational need of poor communities where family units are under extreme pressure. The CrossOver approach to education allows students to remain with their (extended) families whilst at the same time providing emotional support and counselling together with a practical and relevant education. Through the work of our mentors we reach out not only to the students, but also to their families and communities.

CrossOver dreams of hundreds of churches starting Cross Over Study Groups to reach thousands of vulnerable children raising them up as a generation of godly men and women. At the same time they would be raising hundreds of godly mentors who would become a mighty force for good in Study Groups and schools across the nations.

CrossOver is currently operational at River of Life Church in Westgate and is developing curriculum for children and mentors to replicate these learning centers into multiple situations.
